Chicago Newborn & Family Photographer capturing natural, timeless moments of love, connection, and all the beautifully messy magic in between.

Because they’re not just pets—they’re family.

Heartfelt pet photography that captures your best friend’s quirks, cuddles, and that one perfect ear flop.

Because they’re not just part of your life—they are your life.

They’re always there—at your feet, on your lap, waiting by the door. And while they may not be here forever, the love they give? That sticks with you. My pet sessions are designed to honor that connection by focusing fully on them. Their quirks, their sweetness, their everyday magic.

Meet Jen

Photographer, animal lover, and proud member of the “my dog is my child” club.

I’ve been photographing families for over a decade, and somewhere along the way I realized—our pets are part of that family. They’re in the background (or, let’s be honest, the center) of our daily lives. They make us laugh, they keep us grounded, and when they’re gone, we miss them more than we thought possible.

That’s why I started offering sessions just for them—so you can have photos that feel like them. Whether we’re hanging out at home or running around your favorite park, I’ll capture the quiet looks, the goofy grins, the quirks you never want to forget.

No pressure, no forced posing—just a relaxed, pet-led experience that feels like hanging out with your best friend. (Because, well, it kind of is.)

why this matters

10 years ago, I had a tiny 3.5 lb Yorkie named Einstein—wild hair, tongue always out, full of sass and sweetness. He was my sidekick through a tough season of life, showing up with love (and attitude) exactly when I needed it most.

One day, not long before he passed unexpectedly, I had this gut feeling while I was at work: I need to get photos taken, just the two of us. It wasn’t a big moment, and I didn’t know it would be the last chance I’d get. But now, those images? They mean everything to me.

That’s why I offer pet sessions. Because we think we’ll have more time. We think we’ll take more photos. But life moves fast, and these little souls who take up such a big part of our hearts deserve to be remembered.

These sessions are a chance to slow down, celebrate your pet exactly as they are right now, and create something you’ll treasure long after muddy paws and fur on your black pants are just a memory.

FAQ

What if my dog/cat’s a total spaz and never stops moving?
You’re in good hands. Most pets aren’t trained models, and they don’t need to be. I’m used to working with wiggles, zoomies, and short attention spans. We’ll go with the flow and get great photos without forcing a thing.

What about shy or nervous pets?
No problem. We’ll take it slow, keep things quiet, and follow your pet’s lead. I’m all about low-pressure sessions that feel good for everyone involved.

Can I be in the photos too?
Yes, and I hope you will. These sessions are about the connection you share, so whether you want to jump in for a few shots or be part of the full session, I’ll guide you in a natural, comfortable way (nothing awkward or overly posed).
